I have been blessed to have four children, which include three sons and one daughter. It was hard to believe when my daughter called and told me that her doctor had diagnosed her with Type 1 diabetes. It was a complete shock to me because no one that I know of in my immediately family has ever had the disease. I realize there is still hope of doctors still being able to use stem cell treatments for diabetes in the future. I just hope that it is a possibility before she has to eventually go on dialysis. It is something that we will both be wishing for.
