The scuba diving tank is essential to having an enjoyable dive. The aqualung developed by Cousteau and Gagman was first such device to be commercially successful. Compressed air or sometimes other gas is delivered from a tank and exhaled into the water. These are the most popular of the units available today. A second type of scuba equipment, with an open circuit rebreather system, was created to avoid oxygen toxicity. The closed and semi-closed circuit rebreathers are still available. These are typically used by those doing deep diving. You need to have one in order not to drown when you’re going underwater.
